About the Artist

Mary Vanderplank is a Somerset based artist whose main body of work is in oils.
She has been a member of Somerset Art Works since 2008 and has had regular exhibitions during SAW Open Studios, at Mulcheney Abbey, Ilminster Meeting House and the Greenwood Gallery in Cheltenham.
A selection of her original oils, Giclee prints and cards can be viewed and purchased at Shakspeare Gallery and Glass in Langport , Somerset located besides the River Parrett - a beautiful spot to enjoy a coffee and cake on the gallery's balcony.
She regularly takes on commissions as this is a good excuse to abandon other chores! Prices start from £295.00 dependent on size of canvas.

A continuing source of inspiration has to be the notorious floods on the Somerset Levels but her work covers images from all over the West Country and beyond. Her compositions are hugely influenced by reflections on water and wet sands dramatised by stormy skies. Favourite haunts include the beaches of Saunton and Putsborough in North Devon, the Dorset coast, the creeks around the Carrick Roads in Cornwall, Bryher and St Martins on the Scilly Isles and the Newlands Valley in the Lake District.

Greetings cards of most of these works can be ordered direct from the printers at https://www.lovefromtheartist.com/
